Our Classes & Activities

Butterfly class (4months – 2 years)

Your baby is provided with dedicated care and attention. We allow a maximum of 7 babies per class in order to minimize the risk of infections but have a small ratio of 1:7 to maximize the attention per child.

Babies should be allowed to crawl to develop specific motor skills, but they cannot be allowed to do so in an unsafe and unclean environment. We, therefore, pride ourselves on our extremely clean and hygienic environment.

The nappy changing and food preparation stations are separated as well. Hand washing is an integral part of the care process as well.

It is very important for the development of babies that toys are put in their mouths, but when toys are being played within a group environment, it can lead to the spread of germs and viruses. All babies are provided with different sets of toys, which are sterilized regularly to protect baby against unnecessary germs.

In this class, we focus on potty training (not forced). The children get taken to the toilets every 15 minutes.

Age-appropriate stimulation is done daily, and we try and make it as much fun as possible.

Dragonfly class (2years – 3years)

Harvest Seedlings Pre-school toddler classrooms utilize the ELDA’s Curriculum, research-based early child care and education curriculum.

At this age, your child is learning at a rapid rate, and as they grow and develop, the teacher adapts the curriculum, as well as the environment to meet both your child’s needs as well as their interests.

Each classroom has a lesson plan created weekly, with activities individualized to the specific needs of each child in the classroom. Each activity on the lesson plan is purposeful and intentionally planned based on the teachers’ observations of each child in the classroom.

Music & Singing

Vet Kat Musiekstudio has been with Harvest Seedlings for 7 years, Susan the music instructor comes to school weekly on a Wednesday and has an interactive lesson with all the children, starting from 2 years old. Her lessons are fun and children really enjoy learning to read music and understand rhythm and beat. Music ignites all areas of child development and skills for school readiness, including intellectual, social-emotional, motor, language, and overall literacy. It helps the body and the mind work together. Exposing children to music during early development helps them learn the sounds and meanings of words. Dancing to music helps children build motor skills while allowing them to practice self-expression. For children and adults, music helps strengthen memory skills. TANYA

“My daughter’s joined harvest seedlings preschool at age of 2. Watching them achieve every milestone with the help of the teachers and staff is exceptionally remarkable. The loving, child-friendly environment that stimulates them daily is really evident and I must say we appreciate the efforts and dedication the staff and teachers put in investing in the growth and development of our little people, Amid the challenges we face with covid restrictions the school still excellently puts great efforts to ensure learning proceeds safely from the preschool premises. The parents’ inclusive partnership in all of this is one good approach the school uses. I recommend the pre-school for those looking to place their little ones.”

LERATO

“Harvest Seedlings Preschool is such a loving, friendly and warm environment to both kids and parents. My Son joined the last year 2020; the end of January, two weeks into the school term having transferred from another school. I was so worried that he would not adjust easily, however, a day was enough to be excited about his new school, new teacher and new friends. To me, that was such a relief and blessing to see him being excited every morning to go to school.

And then the lockdown came oh my! The teachers were exceptional, Hats off to them. They are so dedicated to the well being of the kids. For over four months they provided weekly lessons that kept my son well informed and involved in his school work. Truly grateful and blessed to be a member of the Harvest seedlings preschool family.”

Thank you for instilling this love of learning into my son and making him feel loved. It has been such a pleasure watching him grow this year.”
